We are Merel and Lotte: two friends, entrepreneurs, and everyday cyclists in the heart of Amsterdam.
We first met in Paris, where our friendship began and our shared love for style, freedom, and responsibility grew.

Back in Amsterdam, we noticed that one thing kept coming up in our daily lives: safety.
We cycle everywhere, from work to evening plans, but honestly on dark streets, quiet routes, or unfamiliar paths, we didn’t always feel comfortable.
And we weren’t the only ones.

More and more, we heard stories from friends, colleagues, and women around us who didn’t feel safe while getting around.

That was the moment we thought:

“If no one solves this, we will.”

That’s how BLOQ Amsterdam was born, a brand with a mission:
more freedom and confidence for women on the move.

Our first product, The Siren, is a small, powerful, and stylish personal alarm designed to help you feel safer whether you’re cycling, going out, or walking home alone.
With one simple motion, you draw attention, deter threats, and take back control.

But BLOQ is only the beginning.

We see a future filled with smart, stylish, and functional products, all focused on one thing: safety on the bike and in the city.
Because while Amsterdam may be the cycling capital of the world, safety should always come standard.

We believe every woman deserves to feel strong, free, and safe: every ride, every night, everywhere in the world.

With BLOQ, we want to create that change step by step.
And we’re doing it with joy, courage, and a strong dose of girl power.
